My Internship Diary - Week 4

It has honestly been the fastest four weeks ever and I am currently feeling a mixture of emotions. I am so sad that my time at InStyle is over as I have learnt so much from the amazing fashion team there. I have loved working under the instruction of the features editor, the fashion editor, the shopping editor and working directly with the senior fashion assistant and fashion assistant.

The thought of going back to my studies is a little bit depressing but it has to be done and hopefully the girls at InStyle are going to help me out with my next internship. They offered me an extra two weeks there which I desperately wanted to do but I had to stop myself and think realistically, I would get too behind on my university work.

My last week was the busiest one yet. I took on a lot of different tasks and felt the stress of it. I went to assist on the main fashion story photoshoot on my last day which was the perfect way to finish off my internship.

It's for the Febuary issue, I really don't want to spoil things so when the magazine is out I will post more pictures. It's going to be an amazing issue and I can't wait to see it in print.

My new shoes! Bought as a treat from my boyfriend. He has very good taste. They are so comfy and I've not seen anybody else in them yet (bonus). They are from Topshop.

Travelling in style to the shoot. We had four, HUGE suitcases full of clothes, shoes and accessories to get from the office to the studio. Me and Libby were very happy when a large car turned up which meant we didn't have to balance any cases on our knees (not cool).

Hair and make-up ready to go! I love watching the model transformation. Both the hair stylist and make-up artist were very talented.

A sneak peak at the accessories table! I can't wait to post more pictures of the clothes soon! It's hard to look at clothes and shoes all day and not want to go shopping afterwards. Must. Not. Spend!

Here is Amy, the fashion editor and Libby, the fashion assistant looking through some of the images with the photographer. Being able to see them on screen made life so much easier.

It was a great day to round off a great experience. I would go back to InStyle in a heart beat but I have to say, I'm pretty worn out. I'm ready to get back to uni and meet my deadlines.

I was particularly busy this week that I struggled to fit in my usual gym routine but I tried my best. On Friday evening my mum was coming to stay so before meeting her for a welcome dinner I spent some time in the (very empty) gym.
I started with interval sprints on the treadmill. I used to do these a lot but haven't for a while and wow I could tell. There are a lot of combinations to do but I chose one of the hardest to make up for my lack of gym time in the week. 2 minutes on 1 minute off. That's two minutes of sprinting with a one minute recovery. It's only works if you're really sprinting and you do that ten times. You will drip with sweat and feel a 99% chance of throwing up by the end BUT it's an amazing fat burner. Try it!

I then did an arm circuit and abs circuit. I love working my arms so I mixed it up with 20 tricep dips, 10 bicep curls with a heavy weight, 20 overhead extensions, 10 bicep curls. I repeated this 5 times and by the end my muscles were screaming.

On Saturday night, after a relaxing day in London we went for dinner at The Alchemist at Bevis Marks near Liverpool Street, ideally near my flat. The chain has been a favourite of mine and we regularly visit the Manchester restaurant. When I found out they had just opened one in London I was so excited. The food and cocktails are delicious and the price is so reasonable, especially for London. I urge you all to go.

A bubblegum daiquiri complete with a layer of popping candy and a classic passion fruit mojito.

A white chocolate raspberry martini. This was basically a dessert in a glass and was a little bit too heavy for me. I will stick with my all time favourite... The pornstar martini.

I hope everybody has an amazing week ahead of them. This is the end of my internship diary for now, hopefully it won't be too long until I can start my next one.

Yours Fashionably
