My friend Nicoletta Bolide has decided it is time to throw in her nursing uniform and try to make it as a make-up artist. Well, when I say 'throw in' I mean she is hoping to eventually become a full time make-up artists but lets be realistic... it can't happen over night.

I have known her long enough to know that her make-up is always impeccable, every night out we have been on her skin looks flawless and her eyes are either Ideally smokey or beautifully natural which causes a lot of female appreciation with a pang of jealousy. I suppose having nice make-up doesn't suddenly mean you can be a make-up artist but Nicoletta has trained herself up from lots of tutorials and a short course as part of a drama qualification.

Unfortunately for me, I am not quite so skilled when it comes to make-up application. Don't get me wrong... I LOVE my collection of lipsticks from nude to pink to purple to the classic red lippy however I am also in love with the feeling of having a make-up free face as often as possible. Me and Nicoletta planned a day when we were both free and she used my face as her testing canvas and I just got the privilege of having my make-up done and looking great for the rest of the day.

I was actually surprised at how different it looks to have make-up done professionally! My eyebrows just looked amazing which is one thing I always struggle to master. My skin looked super smooth and I had definition in all the right places so next time I am doing something exciting I will definitely turn to Makeupbynico. She is soon to be taking some courses to get more specific qualifications in the hope to soon be a qualified fashion make-up artist, how exciting!

Anybody who needs their make-up doing for any occasion or you need a professional, hard working, talented girl for a shoot then contact Makeupbynico.

Are you Carmilla or Laura?

Every now and then we deserve to update our wardrobe don't we? I have had a new revelation... how about, instead of splashing out on new clothes that you are going to want to replace in a month or so you could splash out on some incredible jewellery instead that you will never get bored of plus it can completely revamp any outfit!

Jewellery designer, Katie Rowland has just launched her SS14 collection which I would recommend to anybody looking for something different. The collection is called 'Carmilla' based on the vamp novel based on Carmilla and Laura's attraction to each other. Laura, sweet, girly and innocent portrayed in the jewellery with pops of sugary coloured stones mixed with a dark edge to present Carmilla, who has the alter ego of a black cat. The clash of the females personalities shown in the collection works so well whether you are a girly girl looking for something playful and cute or into a darker look with a grungy edge.

I love the way this novel has been chosen as the two female characters represent most women's personalities or a part of themselves they want to show off. To be able to mix the two completely contrasting styles into one collection is a challenge that I think has been successfully tackled.

I am crazy about the 'Carmilla Dark Forest Statement Necklace' and the 'Carmilla Twisted Ring'. The necklace in particular is AMAZING and I can already picture a ton of outfits that would immediately look ten times better with such a statement piece. Now all I need to do is save save save and it will be mine!!

Which girl are you? Carmilla or Laura? Let everybody know by checking out the 'Carmilla' collection by Katie Rowland and get your piece!

The Chanel Supermarket

Today, the Chanel show took place at Paris Fashion Week. I truly believe that Karl Lagerfeld has out done himself and anybody else for that matter. Known for his crazy locations and creative concepts on the runway I really didn't know what to expect today but I definitely wasn't expecting this.

A Chanel supermarket? Where did this idea even come from? With isles full of 'Chanel' food products and stands full of every different type of 'Chanel' cheese they have literally thought of it all right down to the colourful shopping trolleys pushed by the models. When I first saw the set I wasn't sure if I loved it but when I saw the immense detailing that has gone into it I couldn't really disagree that Chanel is on top form. The runway full of super bright, primary colours gave off a kitsch feeling and as the models walked down (or shall I say shopped around) I couldn't help feel it looked like a toy world.

Cara Delevingne of course made an appearance along side Kendall Jenner who seems to have now made a name for herself as a runway model which I find intriguing but she does seem to be doing the job pretty well I have to say. The collection itself has in a way, been over shadowed by the props and the set as I seem to be able to talk more about that than the actual clothes. Never the less I enjoy the oversized coats, sporty trainers and a vibrant colour pallet for a sleek, smart winter look for us to indulge in.

I wonder what will come next as I find each show completely unpredictable, that is what is so great about Chanel, one of the most iconic and long running fashion houses can still surprise us. I think that means Karl is doing his job! All I can say is... where can I get my Chanel Spaghetti?
